M1 Garand

This is my take on modeling the M1 Garand, an old american service rifle and one of the first successful gas-operated firearms. The wood texture is a real world picture of wood edited in GIMP that I created.

The model has bones and can be posed. Each individual cartridge has a bone assigned to it for quality animations.

The gun’s bolt. The garand was a lot more complicated than i originally assumed.

The underside of the gun to show some detail like the trigger guard and sling attachment points.

The front of the gun. Not the side you generally want to be on.

Point of view of the sight.

The weapon with the bolt partially open.

The gun’s front sight at another angle.

The weapon with the clip about to be inserted (yes this one takes clips not magazines, and yes there is a difference.)

The weapon’s topology can be seen above. Note the triangle count.
